Superfoods to Get You Going During Ramzan

How’s Ramzan coming along? For some people, it might be the time when they don’t have professional engagements at all and for some, it’s the normal work life (with reduced work hours). It often gets tricky to divide your meals between sahoor and iftar when you have to catch up with some sleep too before you wake up for the next day.
To be honest, it’s hard to resist the urge to feed yourself with some of the most tempting snacks on iftar table (I feel you guys!) but I also believe that this is the best time to get accustomed to healthier options to satisfy your hunger. That said, we all know that putting up with a “healthy diet” routine in the midst everyday chaos while you are fasting is not easy but don’t worry, I got you. Here are some superfoods to help you stay at your best during Ramzan while you work on your next project or task like a pro!

Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie
Because you need that protein punch to keep going throughout the day. What’s best about it? It blends all the good things – milk, banana, yogurt, honey, peanut butter and chia seeds – and gives you a nutrient-rich drink that you would love to have every day!
If you want some variety then pop some sliced mango, blueberries and raspberries in Greek yogurt, add some milk and ice cubes and blend them together. Verdict? Yummy in my tummy.

Scrambled Eggs
With some spinach and Feta. You can add olives if you’re a fan otherwise you can use olive oil for scrambling the eggs. Wrap them up in a whole wheat tortilla or normal bread and have a quick fix all the protein, healthy fats and iron you need to stay at the top of your game all day long!

Cocoa Magic
If you feel tired, generally or have sore muscles after the boot-camp that you have been hitting lately then soothe yourself with this delicious delight. Put frozen banana, cocoa powder, peanut butter, ice and milk in a blender and work it into a thick, lush blend. Add oats if you like to add some more fiber into the mix!

(Break)Fast Parfaits
Good to go for the whole year round, this option is perfect for the days when you had the time of your life during that family iftar and now you want a nice, light sehri. Layer Greek yogurt with oats or bran, chia seeds and mixed berries in breakfast bowl/jar and devour it spoon by spoon!

Healthy Hydrators
Hydrate with at least two glasses of water at sahoor Or simply blend watermelon, banana and apple in Greek Yogurt and hydrate with some flavor to put you in the right mode for the next day!

Weight-Watcher’s Fav
Scrambled egg whites, fresh sliced tomatoes with some avocados on a slice of whole wheat bread are all you need to complete a wholesome sehri.

Good for Sweet Tooth
If you are looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth then put a thin layer of peanut butter on a whole wheat wrap, toss some sliced banana, berries and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon – sheer delight!
